New Release - VSM24-R High Load (Rigid) UHV Rotation Stage

 The VSM24-R is a new addition to AML's VSM range of ultra high vacuum compatible stages. Featuring high specification bearings, the VSM24-R has a high 250 kg centred load capacity. Its rigid bearing arrangement also makes it ideally suited for applications that feature large off-centre loads.  The large design of the VSM24-R enables its enhanced specification such as the inclusion of AML's D42.2 UHV stepper motor to achieve a max torque of 15 Nm. The stage has a 212 mm diameter table so that it can coordinate with larger loads and samples. The VSM24-R is constructed with a combination of stainless-steel and UHV-prepared aluminium. Weight-saving features are seen throughout the stage. These are designed to reduce minimise the mass of the stage whilst retaining the strength required for handling high loads.  

Limit switches

 The limit switch option adds a module with two of AML's VLS1 UHV compatible limit switch. These limit the travel of the stage to 0-360°. With the SMD4, the limit switches on the stage can be used with the homing function to drive the stage to either switch. The limit switches also provide a repeatable position from which future movements can be coordinated from.

Anti-backlash spring

The anti-backlash spring option adds a module to the stage which improves backlash to <0.005° and repeatability to 0.025° (bi-directional) and 0.02° (uni-directional). With the anti-backlash module fitted, the travel range of the stage is limited to 0-360°.
