Summary of 2023 at AML and a preview of 2024: new UHV stepper motors, linear actuators and more.

As 2023 comes to an end, we at Arun Microelectronics want to thank all our employees, suppliers, customers and partners for the success achieved this year. We want to use this moment to look back at some of the projects we have worked on this past year, and also look forward to exciting new developments we have planned for 2024.
Firstly, we would like to confirm AML's closing times for the Christmas holidays:
AML will be closed from 5pm on 15th December 2023 and will re-open on 2nd January 2024.
We look forward to completing our current projects and taking on new enquiries in the new year. During AML's closure, please send new orders and enquiries to sales@arunmicro.com as normal, and we will be in contact with you as soon as we re-open.
2023 Recap:
During 2023 we have worked on a variety of projects with partners across the world and introduced several new products to AML's product range, such as the VSM17 and VSM23-X.
The year started with the completion of one of the largest mechanisms designed and built by AML. The 7-axis UHV mechanism combined bespoke co-axial rotation stages with standard VSM17 stages. The full specification of this mechanism is detailed in the following blog:

Our next custom project was the development of a high-load UHV rotation stage. This was developed for a unique application that required a centred load capacity of 220kg. Learn more about this custom stage and the application it was designed for in the following blog:

Aside from custom projects, we have introduced and expanded the range of VSM17 UHV compatible stages. The VSM17 series of stages have simplified the way in-vacuum mechanisms can be developed. With linear, rotation, and goniometer stages, the modular design of the VSM17 series enables the construction of complex multi-axis mechanisms using standard stages. Looking to 2024:
As we look forward to 2024, we are excited to continue expanding existing product ranges with the introduction of products such as the SMD4 Stepper Motor Drive and new long-travel VSM stages. AML will also be expanding into new product areas, all based on our core speciality of UHV systems. Here is a preview of some of the new AML products coming in 2024:
D28.1 UHV Stepper Motor
The D28.1 will be a new addition to the D-series of UHV stepper motors from AML. It will use NEMA 11 frame dimensions, making it suited for applications that require a more compact stepper motor than we currently offer.
UHV Linear Actuators
UHV linear actuators will be a brand-new product area for AML. Powered by our D-series UHV stepper motors, these actuators deliver a high load linear motion in a compact design. This makes them ideally suited for integration in to your UHV systems where high thrust loads are required.
Updated NGC3
In 2024 the latest iteration of the NGC will be released. This new ion gauge controller will feature ion gauge control and four active gauge inputs. Connections will include ethernet, USB, RS232/485 interfacing and digital I/O.
