D42.2 200 N Thrust Drive
200 N Maximum Axial Thrust Load
Vacuum: 1x10-10 mbar
With a requirement for a motor with an axial thrust load of 200 N, AML have designed a custom drive for the D42.2 UHV stepper motor. The final design offers a low speed, high thrust solution.
The D42.2 200 N Thrust Drive features specialised bearings with high thrust load capacity and an M5 leadscrew, increasing axial thrust load from 9 N on the standard D42.2 to 200 N. UHV compatible materials and design processes throughout ensure suitability to 1 x 10-10 mbar. NyeTorr 6300 ultra-low outgassing grease is used as standard.
In addition to its high thrust capacity, the D42.2 200 N Thrust Drive is designed to be as compact as possible. The body of the drive and motor is just 98 mm long, with a 25 mm length M5x0.8 leadscrew. This makes the drive ideal for applications where space is limited. The leadscrew may be customised to suit the application. The drive maintains the same NEMA 17 sizing as the D42.2 motor throughout its entire length.
