Salary £29,000 - £40,000 per annum (D.O.E.) + Hybrid + Pension + Medical Insurance + 30 Days Holiday

Arun Microelectronics Ltd (AML) is a leading global manufacturer of in-vacuum motion systems, vacuum compatible stepper motors, ion gauges and instrumentation for scientific and R&D applications. 

We are seeking a full-time embedded software engineer primarily to develop firmware for our next generation of motor drives, gauge controllers, and other products. The role will also include general software development. 

Key responsibilities

  • Development of embedded firmware for typically STM32 based targets in C, C++
  • General software development; scripting, PC applications and web
  • Seek opportunities to improve our development process 
  • Create supporting documentation, presentations to management

Ideal Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Minimum one years’ industry experience in embedded software development, or excellent portfolio demonstrating the required level of expertise
  • Languages; C, C#, Python, Javascript
  • Use of software development tools, including Visual Studio and source control software such as GIT or Subversion 
  • Embedded software development; ideally STM32 
  • PC software development 
  • Working knowledge of interfacing to hardware over USB, Ethernet and others 
  • Knowledge of HTML and web development would be useful 
  • Self-motivated and self-managed, well organised with strong problem solving, analytical & administrative skills 
  • Background electronics knowledge ideal, but not essential  
  • Fluent English language skills
