Bookkeeper / Office Administrator

£12–14 an hour depending on experience

Arun Microelectronics Ltd (AML) is a small but well-established electronics design and manufacturing company located near Pulborough, West Sussex. The company is a leading global manufacturer of instrumentation for industrial, scientific and R&D applications.

We are looking for a confident and highly organised person to join our friendly team, responsible for the daily book-keeping and general office administration associated with the smooth running of the company.

The working hours can be flexible to suit the requirements of the candidate ranging from a part-time position of 17.5 hours per week to a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week with an expanded role.

The office is located in a rural part of West Sussex, so a car or other personal transport is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Raising customer and supplier invoices in Quickbooks
  • Paying suppliers when due and chasing slow paying customers
  • Bank reconciliation and quarterly VAT returns
  • Producing weekly cash flow and management accounts
  • HR administration
  • Answering the telephone and email correspondence
  • Raising quotations and processing customers’ orders
  • Shipping goods worldwide
  • General office management and administration as required

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Bookkeeping experience advantageous although training can be provided to the right candidate
  • Numerate and computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office
  • Fluent English language skills
  • First class organisational and communication abilities
